| Offworld Marketing was founded in 1997 as a means of subsidizing (and
managing!) the collections of founders Dale and Karen Dobson. We
began selling cool stuff that we acquired during our journeys in mid-1997,
when we discovered the then-fledgling eBay system. It helped us find
good homes for the things we loved but couldn't afford to keep.
In 1998, we began to take our hobby more seriously, acquiring a digital camera and improving our back-office systems. Operating as D*K*Collectibles, the business grew and thrived on our discoveries at flea markets, thrift stores, clearance bins and garage sales for several years. In late 2001 we decided it was time to take the leap into NEW merchandise, reasoning that mint-condition, hard-to-find action figures, dolls and collectibles ought to be just as interesting as the well-worn treasures we'd been hunting. We began doing business as Offworld Marketing in January of 2002, continuing to sell through eBay as we expanded our offerings and dealt with myriad new product and management challenges. In the second quarter of 2002, we launched the official Offworld Marketing website to provide more convenient access to our catalog. And here you are. We hope you find something you can't pass up; we're dedicated to carrying the products you want and getting them to you quickly and in excellent shape. As collectors ourselves, we know how important condition and sheer "coolness factor" are - if we don't find a product appealing, or can't stock it case-fresh and sticker-free, you won't see it on our virtual shelves. We're not in the business of "scalping" rare toys bought at retail, either - all of our merchandise comes direct from the manufacturer, and we are authorized dealers for everything we carry. As of November 2003, our staff has grown by one with a new employee. Nina knows what she's doing and is fitting right in - you'll still get the personal-quality service you've come to expect from the whole Offworld family.
